Sun Safety

The SunSense Program is a national sun safety program developed by the Canadian Cancer Society that supports Canadian elementary schools to create a sun safe environment that protects students and staff from harmful ultraviolet radiation.

To enjoy the outdoors safely, it is recommended to:

  1. Seek shade or create your own where it is not available
  2. Wear weather appropriate clothing that provides sun protection
  3. Wear a wide brim hat that protects your ears, neck and face
  4. Wear SPF 30 or higher to protect your skin
  5. Protect your eyes
