National Indigenous History Month

In DSB1, students and staff learn on the land and about the history and experiences of Indigenous peoples through valuable partnerships with community members, organizations, Knowledge Keepers, and Elders.

In these examples, students learn about rabbit snaring and participate in the Omushkego Nation Rebuilding Initiative organized by the Mushkegowuk Youth Department to learn about traditional cooking and teachings. Students also engage in learning through observation, listening, experimenting that celebrates Indigenous knowledge and innovations and how they shape our global community.
